Adding many features into one single page and keeping it simple is a challenging task, especially when most of the functions should be visible to the user at all times. This is a good example of the trade off between ‘how simple a page can be’ vs ‘how complex a page has to be’.

Product Name: ePath Learning nGage

ePath Learning nGage™ is a validated compliance training LMS solution developed specifically for regulated companies including life sciences, pharmaceutical and medical device organizations. nGage LMS helps to alleviate the administrative struggles and technical burdens typically associated with delivering complex, organization-wide compliance training programs.

Feature:

Adding ‘Attendance’, ‘Scoring’, and ‘Waitlist’ features for Instructor Led Training Module

Challenge:

When an instructor runs a training course online or in the classroom, they can see the list of attendees on the Learning Management System (LMS) event page, and that’s pretty much all they can do. However, there are so many aspects that an instructor has to be able to manage on the LMS for a given event. The instructor needs to be able to:

- add or remove a user from an event,

- confirm user attendance, add score manually, mark user completion,

- see users who are waitlisted for a given event in rank order,

- view all the upcoming events of a learning activity,

- see all the registration lists for a given event right on the spot,

- edit classroom time, location, and capacity instantly.

The instructor will need to be able to manage all of these features stated above.

Surrounded by learners.

While clock is ticking.

On a single page.

Result:

UX solutions within a Learning Management System may be quite complex, especially for someone new to an LMS. The ideal way to understand the reasoning behind these features I created would be to go over these prototypes as I explain them in full detail. Still, the design process overview, the user story and the clickable prototype may give an idea about the projects I’ve been working on.
